The January 7, 2008, meeting was called to order at 6:40 PM by Tom Mitchell. Attendees: Bill Palmer, Laurie Palmer, Karen Sweet, Tom Mitchell, Barb Twombly, Coach Sanfilippo, Linda Procopio, Sandi Tommarello, Madelyn Duffy, Michelle Turner Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the December 3, 2007, Meeting were reviewed and accepted. Treasurer’s Report: Karen Sweet reported that there was approximately $x.xx in checking and around $x.xx in savings. Jim Cuddy and Dave Stewart are still working on Not-For-Profit status and Incorporation of BIFC. Coaches Report: Coach addressed need for e-mail master list for all players and parents. The Junior Combine Recruiting Fair is Sunday May 18, 2008. Coaching staff is responsible for this event. BIFC can setup concession stand for this event. Need for volunteers. Coach is also working with a person to order T-shirts and shorts for about a cost of $15.00 each, with no minimum order. Coach needs are: free standing DVD burner (3-tier), VCR/DVD combo, and DVD dubs. Team Reps: No Reports. We are looking for volunteers for all levels. New Business: Novelties: Contact needs to be made with Richelle in order to get an inventory of novelties. Some discussion concerning the Bee Logo Pin which was is pending the budget for 2008. We are looking for a volunteer for novelties. Community Activity: Christmas Caroling in December was a great success. Special Thanks to Tom Manning, Coaching Staff, players and families who participated. Some discussion on setting up a tent at the home games for raising money for the Christmas Bureau. Budget: Tom Mitchell discussed the need to have the budget in place by Feb 2008. Some discussion about moving Unity Day to the Mandatory Coach/Player/Parent Meeting night in August, 2008, in order to cut back on expenses. Cost for player will be discussed at the next meeting. Some discussion for considering ideas for fundraising this year. Golf Tournament: Some discussion about promoting the Golf tournament. Discussed putting money into a separate endowment that will be connected with the scholarship fund. Waiting for figures and more information from Coach Sanfilippo.
Scholarships: An e-mail needs to be sent to
senior parents and students regarding dates and content
of the essay. Scholarship essays must be received by
April 1, 2008 to: Attn: Scholarship Application Building/Storage: Some discussion as to what should be done about expanding storage and building space for storing supplies and equipment for the Snack Shack. Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to chair Team Reps, Novelties, Volunteer Coordinator, Chains and Scoreboard, concession stands and handle purchase and delivery of Coke Products for the concession stand.
