BIFC Meeting
August 2007

The August 6, 2007 meeting was called to order at 7:04 by Jim Cuddy. 

Attendees:  Jocelyn Ahmed, Mary Lou Angarano, Dana Cavender, Jim Cuddy, Patrick & Madelyn Duffy, Laurie Elliott, Brenda Ginter, Laurie Palmer, Denise Pedercini, Linda Procopio, Richelle Rumble, Colleen Melvin Schmidt, Karen Sweet, Barb Twombly, Lee Verginio, Leigh Wilson & John Yeschick.  Coaches Sanfilippo & Hysick were also present. 

Secretary’s Report:  Minutes for the July 16, 2007 meeting were reviewed and accepted. 

Treasurers Report:  Laurie reported that there is $x.xx in Checking and $x.xx in Savings. (Total: $x.xx) $x.xx from the Combine – outstanding.

Coaches Report:   Coach Sanfilippo & Hysick have reported that the team is working hard.  Team dinners are to be held in the cafeteria.  Menu:   Spaghetti, meatballs, Italian Bread, and Salad, and maybe a small dessert item.  Linda Procopio will look into reserving the cafeteria.  Coach Sanfilippo will see about using the kitchen for clean up & cooking the pasta.  Parents have already committed to this endeavor and will do so at the school rather than their home.

Web Site:  Bills were prepared and submitted.  Web-Site updates will be made by Pat Duffy with his able assistant, Madelyn.

New Business:

A “Thank You” note was received from Elmer Beckley.  Coach Hysick reported that “Thank You” notes were sent to all those involved with the Golf Outing/Scholarship fundraiser.

Not For Profit Status:  Still on-going.  It is suggested that the BIFC allocates funds for the formation of a Corporation.

Projected cost for this endeavor is $x.xx.

Walk-Through Physicals for Football – August 9th.

First Practice for Varsity & JV – August 13th.

Programs:  Lee Verginio and Lee Wilson have been working diligently on this endeavor.  They are looking at a 28-page format, and have so far collected $x.xx.   Pictures of the players will be taken on Saturday August 18.  Pictures will be taken with the players in shirt & tie for the program and in their practice jersey for the buttons.  “Coaches & family” pictures will be included in the program.  Need to set a date for Cheerleaders “head shots”.

JV and Varsity Rosters will be submitted from the Coaches.  Bee-A-Patron forms will be at the Player/Parent Team Meeting – August 21.

Team pictures will be taken by Brad Walker - $x.xx sitting fee, 8 x 10’s will be $x.xx.

BIFC Meeting Minutes – August 6, 2007

Novelty/Apparel Order -- Richelle Rumble has placed an order for items to be available for sale at the August 21st parent/player meeting.  

Bottle & Can Drive:  Barb Twombly has reported that Senior Varsity Players have done extremely well in accomplishing their task of $30 in bottles & cans/each player.  Other players are also doing well.  Team Reps will follow-up on this as time warrants

Player/Parent Team Meeting:   Scheduled for August 21st in the High School Gym.  We are in the process of finalizing plans for this.  Needed, in addition to the gym, are:  8-9 tables,  podium & microphone.  Parents will be advised to bring their checkbook to this meeting for the purchase of novelties/apparels, Bee-A-Sport Patron, and

Fundraiser Raffle Tickets.

A motion was made, discussed, voted on and approved that the Raffle would be for ten $100 prizes.   Raffle Tickets will sell for $5.00 apiece.  JV & Varsity Players are expected to sell ten $5 tickets and Freshmen, 8th & 7th Modified Players are expected to sell five $5 tickets.

Code of Conduct:  A new “Code of Conduct” has been prepared by the B’Ville School District.  Coaches will have these available to the players on the first day of practice.  Parents/Players are to review and sign their acceptance, and return same to the Coaches.

Concessions:   Barb Twombly discussed the availability for our use of a double Coffee/hot chocolate maker to be used in the upper field concession stand. 

A motion was made, discussed, voted on and approved that the BIFC purchase a Nacho Cheese Pump at the cost of approximately $x.xx-$x.xx.   A concern was raised about the cleaning of this unit and storage thereof – Would not want to keep this in the concession stand – It could “walk away”.

Cleanup of the concession stand will take place Saturday August 18th at 8:00 a.m.   Bring cleaning supplies with you.

Chris Hayden will handle the Coca Cola Orders and Amy Monnat will handle the food purchases. 

Game Day Volunteers:   Rich Green will film the games.  We are in need of an Announcer.  Mr. Halpin will handle the 50/50 raffles.  We need Chain Gang volunteers (must not have a player on the field).   

VCR/DVD & Television for Coaches/Players:  Coach Sanfilippo and Dan Twombly are coordinating this endeavor.

Will probably exceed the amount allocated for the coaches.    BIFC and the Coaches agree that this is an important tool for the team.   We will purchase the  equipment at the best price. 

Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m. 

Next Meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m.
